Author Visits and Programs

Connecting students with stories, writing and conversations that inspire curiosity, empathy and creativity

Like an Arrow

Explore the power of stories to help us understand who we are, where we come from and where we hope to go. Drawing from my writing journey and the themes in my books, I invite students to reflect on identity, belonging, resilience and the experiences that shape their lives while encouraging them to recognize the value of their own voices and stories.

Designed for: Teens

Writing Workshop

Invite students to explore the craft of storytelling while discovering the power of their own voices. Through writing prompts, conversation and creative exercises, students learn how authors develop ideas, create characters and transform experiences into stories. I encourage young writers to take risks, embrace curiosity and see their own lives as a source of inspiration.

Designed for: Teens and adults

Reading Club Talk

Engage students in meaningful conversations about books, characters and the ideas that shape stories. Through discussion of my novels and the themes they explore, I encourage students to think critically, share their perspectives, and make connections between literature and their own experiences. These conversations offer readers a chance to engage more deeply with books while connecting with the author behind the story.

Designed for:
Middle and high school classes

Picture Book Visit

Introduce students to the magic of storytelling through engaging conversations, creative activities and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the writing process. Through my books, I encourage young readers to explore themes of friendship, community, curiosity and connection while helping them see that their own ideas and experiences can become stories worth sharing.
