In recognition of this being November 9, I’m reposting a photo from this school with young children, grade K – 2 who’ve come to the U.S. as refugees. Much of my fiction is about new Americans and my goal is to keep writing so that my stories might build bridges among us. Here I’m at Broken Ground School in Concord, New Hampshire. I read my book about a small South Sudanese-American boy. With parents, we presented the story in Nepali, English, and Kinyarwanda to children from many countries of the world.
